I know that a lot of people find them boring, but I honestly love big salad bowls. There are so many different things that you can add to them, the variations really are endless! Swap out the protein, change the healthy fat around, or just add a whole heap of different veggies to the bowl. Whatever you do or however you eat them, I find them absolutely delicious. Today, I thought that I’d share one of my favourite and most eaten salad bowls. Easy to put together, delicious and super healthy. Introducing my lentil salad bowl.
Chia Seeds – Superfood Spotlight – Plus Chia Pudding Recipe
Chia seeds are one of those things that I simply can’t live without. These protein packed superfoods are always in my cupboards, and if I can, then I’ll add them to almost anything. Muesli, granola, smoothies… I can just never get enough. And the health benefits of these bad boys are pretty astounding too!
I remember my first experience with chia. It was a chia pudding from Whole Foods, which I couldn’t wait to try. I think that it had mango puree on top, and was sprinkled with some coconut flakes. I was so excited about it! But, when I tasted it, it was just a big let-down! It was runny, watery and didn’t taste like much. I think my sister described it perfectly when she compared it to frog spawn!
Immune Boosting Carrot Ginger Smoothie
Who doesn’t love Easter? It’s the perfect excuse to indulge. A four-day weekend just screams short vacations, lazy mornings and of course delicious food. Late brunches, scrumptious desserts, and dinners worth sharing with as many people as you can rally together. For most people, that includes more than your fair share of chocolate. It comes part and parcel with Easter, and let’s be honest… It wouldn’t be right unless you had at least one choccy egg.
Tropical Treats
Everyone loves a good ol’ snack. Something to tide you over between your meals and fill that growing hole in your tummy that’s screaming for food. It’s so easy to reach for that bag of crisps, or chocolate bar that’s calling your name. But sooner or later, you regret giving in to that sweet tooth craving and wish that you’d never snacked in the first place!
But the problem is, most snack’s that are readily available are the ones that aren’t too good for you. And the one’s that claim to be healthy are either ridiculously overpriced, taste completely horrible, or just have no flavour at all! And if you don’t know by now, I hate the thought that healthy food has to be tasteless.
