So, I did something kind of dumb. I had this amazing idea for a new nail post. I’d thought about it, deigned it, picked the colours and everything. In my head, it was all done. Super simple, chic, and undoubtedly pretty. I wrote the post before I’d even attempted it, that’s just how confident I was. So, all I needed to do was paint the nails. And there was my big boo boo. I’d done this whole thing, with nothing but a brief idea in my head. So, I’m pretty sure you can guess what happened next.
I’ll admit, I don’t really see the point in Valentine’s Day. I don’t think it’s fair to say that you should limit your affection for just one day of the year. No, I’m not cynical, but so far this year I haven’t seen a single bouquet of flowers being delivered. Yet today, it’s like every other car is a florist. And for some bizarre reason, a single red rose triples in price! But one thing that I do agree with is the opportunity to dress up!
You spend hours picking the perfect outfit and doing your make up just so; you straighten and curl, pin and twist and make sure that there’s not a hair out of place. After spending all this time making sure that you look perfect, it’s important that you make sure that you add the finishing touch. And of course, what’s better than a good manicure? A fresh coat of nail varnish instantly makes you feel better, and brightens up any outfit.
There’s something about having your nails painted that can completely transform the way that you feel. It gives you confidence and makes you feel a little bit better. Well at least it does for me. And am I the only one who constantly notice’s nails? I know that people always notice shoes, but for me it’s all about the nails. What nail varnish someone’s wearing, whether it’s patterned or just a straight colour, shellac or home done, I even take note of the chosen shade. That’s probably why I hate having unpainted nails. It just makes me feel so dull and boring. So when I have a nice fresh manicure, I can’t help but flash it around for everyone to see. Not that I’m saying I shove my nice new nails in people’s faces, but you know, I might have them on show a bit more then I usually would…
