Frozen fruit is one of them things that I think you should always have to hand. I always make sure that I have big stacks in my freezer, ready to make a scrumptious smoothie, or to use in a fruit compote. For me, frozen bananas are a must; they make delicious nice cream when blended on their own, and are the perfect base for creamy smoothies and smoothie bowls. Simply peel, chop and place them in the freezer, ready for a smoothie kind of day.
I only discovered smoothie bowls about a year ago, and it took me a while to perfect them. My biggest mistake: making them too runny. Smoothie bowls should be nice and thick, so that your toppings can sit on top. You should be able to spoon it out with ease, rather than it dribbling everywhere.
I think that this bowl is my best ever yet. It’s creamy and just so pink! Of course, that makes it 10x better! Made up of only 5 ingredients, it’s quick and easy to make, and completely delicious! Bananas and strawberries are a match made in heaven, and the pear helps to bring it all together. The coconut water helps the fruit to shine through, and the pineapple adds a little sweetness, without being too overpowering. Finished off with fresh fruit, homemade granola and coconut chips. It really does keep me full all morning.
This is fresh, scrumptious and perfectly fruity. I would say make sure that you let the fruit thaw, and warm up a little bit before mixing. It will not only help it blend easier, but will also help it taste better. This only takes about 10 minutes to make and creates a delicious, filling smoothie bowl. Simply pile high with your favourite toppings, and enjoy. This is one of my favourite treats, and leaves me full all morning. Can be eaten any time of the day, but I love enjoying a little bit of pudding for breakfast! Makes one large bowl, or 2 small ones.
Fresh, tasty, and completely pink. The best smoothie bowl that I’ve ever made, and I’m so happy to be able to share it. I hope that you love it as much as I do.
