I’ve made bliss balls, and date bites and other delicious power snacks before. But these ones are completely different, mainly because they’re packed full of chocolate and taste like a biscuit! Made with a mixture of dates, oats, butter and chocolate, they may not be the healthiest, but they’re definitely tasty. But life is all about balance so a bit of chocolate here and there isn’t gonna hurt.
The dates provide a lovely sweet taste to satisfy even the biggest sweet tooth craving. The oats give you a little boost to keep your energy levels up, and your stomach full. The butter helps to bind it all together. Then of course, you have the delicious chocolate chunks as the perfect finishing touch. I normally leave these a little chunky so that you get a big helping of chocolate with each bite. Just place everything into the blender and slowly blitz until smooth enough to roll into bite sized balls.
These are my mums favourite snack and probably my most requested recipe, but it’s not hard to see why. They’re so quick and easy to make and can be kept for 3-4 days in the fridge which is perfect for quick snacking. I like to let these get to room temperature before eating them, that way the chocolate starts to go a little gooey, the dates soften and the taste is so much better!

- Place all the ingredients into a food processor / blender
- Blend the ingredients together until desired consistency is reached. I like to leave it slightly chunky, so that you get a little chocolate chunk surprise when you bite into the ball!
- Remove the mixture from the blender, and roll a small amount between your palms forming a ball, (just like rolling play-doh). They may seem a little sticky by that point, but that's completely normal
- Line an airtight container with some baking parchment, and place the rolled balls inside. Place in the fridge for roughly 1 hour to allow them to harden up
- Remove from the fridge, roughly 5 minutes before you wish to eat them and enjoy!
Store these in an airtight container in the fridge, for 2-3 days
