If you’re anything like me, then winter seriously wreaks havoc on your skin. The low humidity creates dry air, removing moisture from the skin cells, and the central heating only makes the problem worse. I’m left with dry, flaky skin which leaves me self-conscious, and feeling awful. I’ve tried moisturising a million times a day, different face washes, new creams, but nothing seems to work. It’s got to the point where even the tiniest bit of makeup just peels off my face making it look 10x worst. Basically, winter is not a good season for my skin.
Enter ‘Garnier Pure Active Charcoal Gel Wash’. It’s an intensive anti-blackhead charcoal gel, promising to unclog pores and reduce the appearance of blackheads. That pretty much sold it to me. I’ve heard that charcoal is one of them amazing beauty secrets, and that it’s something that should really be used more. So, I thought that I’d give this a go.
Smooth, Spot Free Skin
Honestly, it’s one of the best cleansers that I’ve used for a long time. Not only is my face softer, and (I can’t actually believe it), flake free! But, it really has worked wonders on my blackheads. As soon as I used it, I kind of had a mini eruption, and small spots were coming out everywhere. But, I guess that’s a good thing. You need to get rid of the trapped dirt somehow, right? But since then, my skin is visibly clearer. It looks so much smoother, and people have even commented on how nice my face looks now.
Of course, I didn’t try this alone. I’m a bit of a wimp like that. If I’m going to do an experiment on my skin, then someone else has to do it with me, you know just in case it backfires, then at least I won’t be the only one feeling the consequences. Enter my mum and sister. We’ve all agreed that this is a little miracle worker. My sister’s skin looks visibly clearer and she can’t stop raving about the wash.
When you squirt it onto your hand, it comes out as a black serum, and claims that when you add water, it will foam. I think my expectations were a little too high, and I was expecting full on mousse-like foam. When in reality, it just turns white and bubbles slightly. But, that’s just a minor setback.
After using this for about a week, I can’t help raving about it. It’s left me more confident with radiant looking skin. My blackheads have dramatically reduced, and my pores are no longer clogged and visible. At the moment, this is my favourite face wash, and it really has worked wonders. The charcoal gently helps to reduce any blackheads, and leaves your face feeling soft, clear, and most importantly clean. It removes makeup beautifully, and helps to leave skin looking brighter than it has done all winter.
